Journal Prompt: Cry Me a River

While searching for some inspiration for this week's prompt,  I came across an old Simon & Garfunkel song that I love . . . Bridge Over Troubled Water.  I love the sentiment . . . a friend encouraging someone who is 'down and out.'  What would we do without those people in our lives?  I am so fortunate to have a handful of friends who lift me this way.  Friends that are cheering me on and encouraging me.  Friends that see me through the eyes of unconditional love.  This page is dedicated to one very special person who reminded me this week that it's 'my turn.'  You know who you are . . . and I love you!

I started with a quick sketch and then used various acrylic paints: heavy body, fluid, high-flow and markers.

I kept the painting loose and quick and finished off with colored pencils for details.

I added my favorite lyrics from the song with a dip pen with a wide nib and white India ink.  This page makes me happy.  It's a reminder to me . . . It's time for me to shine!

Have a wonderful week and as always, I look forward to seeing your art journals!  Be sure to visit our incredible featured artist this week, Blenda Tyvoll.
