Week 13 - Have someone draw on your page . . . then finish it!
This challenge has been, by far, the hardest for me! It really made me think outside the box, especially when you have to hand over control to someone else. I spent the day and night with Sandi Keene earlier this week so I asked her to be the one to draw on my page. After using a Tim Holtz world mask and a plastic card to smear on some background colors, I reluctantly handed the page over to Sandi and walked away.
Admittedly, I jokingly tried to steer her in one direction or another, but she wasn't having any part of that. Fortunately, she drew one of her beautiful doodled borders and some swirls around my map!
Now the hard part . . . I stared at that page off and on for two days trying to figure out what I was going to do with what I had. I turned the page in all directions, I thought about quotes, I thought about song lyrics. Then it came to me. I thought about The Documented Life Project Community and how we were spread out all over the world. I thought about how this group has brought people together who ordinarily would never have met. I began to sketch and the faces of the people around the world in our group started to emerge.
And as for Sandi's sketch - the doodle became the border at the top of the page, and one of her swirls became the sun shining down on all of us here at The Documented Life Project!
